Why Cards

Why (would anyone ever make, buy or send these) cards?

Imagine yourself in an old shop, flipping through even older postcards. You see retro moviestars, long gone landscapes, pre-war advertising. And suddenly: there it is. The weirdest card you’ve ever seen. There’s a white mouse on it, about to jump through a flaming hoop. As you stare at it in sheer surprise, the only thing that comes to mind is: why?!

This is how my collection of Why cards started. Ever since, I’ve been fascinated by those strange postcards that seem to have no purpose at all. I mean, why would anyone ever buy or send those cards, and to whom? If you know the answer, please let me know.
